Man Sentenced In Mich. Woman's Strangulation Death
ADRIAN (AP) - A Michigan man who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the slaying of a 63-year-old woman has been sentenced to life in prison.
The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports Steven Storm was sentenced Friday in Lenawee County Circuit Court in Adrian.
Storm apologized to Sandra Johnson's family and friends, saying he hopes someday they will be able to forgive him. The Vandercook Lake man earlier told the judge that he strangled Johnson.
Judge Timothy Pickard called Storm a "psychopath" during the hearing, saying he'll work to ensure Storm never is released from prison.
Johnson's body was found Nov. 17 at a boat launch on Crispell Lake in Jackson County. Authorities say Johnson was killed at her home a day earlier in Lenawee County's Woodstock Township.
