Man Pleads To Sexually Assaulting Underage Girl He Met On Facebook
ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - A Washtenaw County man accused of sexually assaulting underage girls he met on Facebook has pleaded guilty in one of the cases.
Paul Joseph Creps faced four third-degree criminal sexual conduct charges in two cases. There was one case for each victim.
Creps, a 23-year-old Ypsilanti Township resident, pleaded guilty this week to two of the counts in exchange for the dismissal of the two others. He's due back in court for sentencing on March 6.
Prosecutors say Creps contacted his victims through Facebook, picked them up in his truck and had sex with them in his vehicle.
Creps was first arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a girl who was under 16-years-old. After his arrest, investigators went through Creps' cell phone and found many pictures of nude underage girls, police said.
A second girl, a 15-year-old from Ypsilanti, was located after Creps was charged in the initial case, AnnArbor.com reported.
Police believe Creps may have assaulted other girls in the area and possibly in other states. Investigators urge parents to ask their daughters if they had any possible contact with Creps.
The maximum prison term for third-degree criminal sexual conduct is 15 years. The charge is defined as engaging in sexual penetration with a person between 13 and 16 years old.
