The situation unfolded around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 when two vehicles were involved in a minor car accident on I-96 near Greenfield Road on the city's west side.
After the accident both vehicles exited the freeway, at which point an argument ensued between passengers in both parties.
The 26-year-old victim was stopped at the traffic light when police say the suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire, fatally wounding the victim. His girlfriend and infant child were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting but were uninjured, according to police.
