Police: Woman Shoots Husband Dead, Injures 8-Year-Old Daughter
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A woman is in custody after police say she fatally shot her husband and wounded her 8-year-old daughter on Detroit's west side.
Police say the shooting happened about 5:20 p.m. Monday at a home on Fenton Street, near Grand River Avenue and Telegraph Road. Other circumstances weren't immediately clear, although reports say the shooting took place during a domestic argument.
According to police, the 38-year-old woman opened fire inside the house, fatally striking her husband and wounding the girl.
Both victims were taken to local hospitals, where the man was pronounced dead. The girl was last reported in stable condition.
Names of those involved have not yet been released.
The woman remains in police custody. Charges are pending.
The incident remains under investigation.
