Police: Man May Have Intentionally Set Himself On Fire
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - A man is taken to a burn center after Auburn Hills police say he may have set himself on fire.
The city's fire department was called to Motel 6 on Opdyke Road on reports of a structure fire. When crews arrived, one room was fully engulfed with flames and filled with smoke ... and there was smoke damage to the entire building.
The victim was found in the parking lot. Early reports show that he set himself on fire and then ran across the lot.
Officials say there is about $150,000 in damage.
An investigation is underway.
