Man Gets Up To 20 Years For Raping Teenage Runaway
TROY (WWJ) - A man who police say raped a teenage runaway will spend the next four to 20 years behind bars.
Christopher George Hill, 48, was sentenced Tuesday in 6th Circuit Court. He had previously pleaded no contest to nine charges, including child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime, third degree criminal sexual conduct and domestic violence.
Police say their investigation started in February after they responded to Hill's Troy home for a reported domestic situation. Information relayed to the police department was that a female at the residence was being "attacked or beaten."
When police arrived at the home, they found a 17-year-old girl hiding in the basement. Police said the girl had a bruise to her head and minor injuries to her neck and arms, indicating a possible struggle. Officers also noted numerous sexual provocative materials around the home along with a camera and tri-pod set up.
Police say Hill told them he knew the victim was a young teen who ran away from home, and that she had been staying with him since November 2012.
According to police, Hill later admitted to taking nude photos of the victim and engaging in sexual activity with her while recording the activities on camera. He also told police that he transferred the images to a computer and a portable computer drive.
Investigators then talked to the victim again, who told them Hill had assaulted her on Feb. 4 at his home when she would not consent to sex. Afterward, police obtained a search warrant and confiscated computers, computer drives, cameras, a smart-phone and sexual material from Hill's home.
Hill was arrested after Troy police investigators conducted extensive forensic testing of the confiscated computer equipment and found multiple nude photos and videos of the victim.
The Troy Police Department is seeking public assistance to locate anyone else who may have been victimized by Hill. Anyone with information is asked to call 248-524-3450.
