Man Gets Prison For Sexually Assaulting Pet Dog

MUSKEGON (AP) - A judge has sent a western Michigan man back to prison for using his fingers to sexually assault his pet dog. The Muskegon Chronicle reports that Muskegon County Circuit Judge William Marietti ordered 59-year-old Jose Sanchez to prison for 17 months to 22 years.

The judge also asked state corrections officials to get counseling for the Muskegon man. Sanchez told investigators for a pre-sentence report that he was sexually abused as a child.

Sanchez pleaded no contest last month to bestiality.

Sanchez' parole officer was told the dog was sexually assaulted Aug. 2. The 60-pound female dog has been taken in by a foster family.

The newspaper says Sanchez was convicted in 1998 of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child.
