Man Flees Court, Causes Major Chase On US 127
MASON (AP) - A Lansing man being tested for alcohol consumption fled a courthouse and led deputies on a wild chase that exceeded 100 mph.
The Lansing State Journal says the chase finally ended when DeWayne Hill drove the wrong way on a U.S. 127 ramp and landed in a ditch after grazing another vehicle.
Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wrigglesworth says Hill was sentenced Monday in District Court in Mason for drunken driving. Authorities suspected he had been drinking again and ordered a test, but Hill fled during the test.
Hill now faces additional charges related to the chase. The name of his attorney was not immediately known.
