Man Faces Up To 20 Years For Home Invasion
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A 22-year-old Pontiac man who allegedly broke into homes in Oakland County could spend the next 20 years in prison.
Kelsey Lee White was arraigned on Monday on a first degree home invasion charge in connection with an incident that occurred Dec. 9 in Pontiac.
According to police, White broke into a home in the 20 block of E. New York, near Baldwin Avenue and Walton Boulevard, just before 2 a.m. last Monday. The homeowner told police she was startled awake to find an unknown male in her house. After the man fled, the woman called police. Sheriff's deputies followed footprints in the snow and located the suspect, later identified as White, a short distance away.
Police believe White is responsible for breaking into other homes in the area. Anyone who might recognize White from another home invasion in the area is asked to contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Office at 248-858-4911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
White, who has a prior conviction for indecent exposure, is currently being held in the Oakland County Jail on a $100,000 cash surety bond.
