Man Dies After Fall At Club Where 2 Died Before
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ/AP) - Grand Rapids police say a man has died following a fall down a four-story staircase at a nightclub where two other men died in similar accidents.
Police say 36-year-old Kevin R. O'Brien, of Wyoming, Mich., died Monday night at a hospital after falling about 1:45 a.m. Sunday at The B.O.B., a multi-venue entertainment complex.
Witnesses told police that O'Brien entered the open stairwell on the fourth floor and fell to the bottom level.
O'Brien's fatal fall, which isn't the first at the venue, has prompted an investigation by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
On April 14, 21-year-old Zachary Bunting of Grand Ledge was trying to slide down a railing when he lost his balance and fell to his death in the same stairwell. Tyler Usher of Dorr was celebrating his birthday at the club in 2009 when he died.
