Man Dies After Being Hit By Amtrak Train
HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 52-year-old man has died after being struck by an Amtrak passenger train in West Michigan.
Police in Holland say Ricky Pickett, who lived in the area, died Tuesday morning after being hit Monday night at a railroad crossing.
Police say Pickett died of head injuries. Authorities say he was seen on the ground next to the tracks as the train was approaching.
According to investigators, WGHN-AM reported the train tried to stop before hitting the man. No injuries were reported to anyone aboard the train.
