Man Clings To Life After Being Thrown From Motorcycle
ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A Roseville man is near death after a late night motorcycle accident on Gratiot Avenue.
Police say the 36-year-old was riding his 1979 Harley Davidson bike Monday night when a 20-year-old Roseville women allegedly rolled through the stop sign at Gratiot Avenue and Connecticut Street. The man was unable to stop his motorcycle in time and broadsided the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Police say the man, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown approximately 15 feet from his bike, striking the pavement head first. He was rushed to an area hospital, but police say his head injuries were so extensive he was removed from life support.
The driver of the Grand Prix said she didn't see the on-coming motorcycle. She was uninjured.
Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
