Man Charged In September Slayings Of Mich. Couple
CHARLOTTE (WWJ/AP) - A 38-year-old man has been charged in the September slayings of a husband and wife at their Eaton County home.
The Lansing State Journal reports Christopher Perrien of Sand Lake is charged with two counts of murder and gun charges in the fatal shootings of 62-year-old Michael Greene and 46-year-old Terri Greene.
Authorities say Perrien was on work release from the Eaton County Jail at the time of the Sept. 22 killings in Delta Township, near Lansing.
Perrien was arraigned Thursday in Eaton County District Court in Charlotte and was ordered held without bond. A preliminary hearing is Jan. 5.
Michael Greene was a former Michigan State Police detective who retired in 1998.
According to the Michigan Deparment of Corrections, Perrien has multiple prior convictions including breaking and entering, larceny, and uttering and publishing.
A message seeking comment was left by The Associated Press for court-appointed defense lawyer William Weise.
