Man Charged In Home Invasion Where Alleged Accomplice Was Killed
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Highland Park man is facing assault and other charges in connection with a home invasion where his alleged accomplice was killed.
WWJ's Beth Fisher reports 21-year-old Tracy Carlisle has been charged with assault with intent to murder, home invasion and felony firearm in connection with the break in earlier this week on the city's west side.
Homeowners at a residence on Barbara Street, in the I-96 and W. Outer Drive area, were asleep early Tuesday morning when they heard a window break and men inside their home.
The male owner allegedly shot and killed one of the intruders, a 19-year-old man. His wife was accidentally shot in the shoulder during the ruckus and was treated as a local hospital.
Carlisle allegedly escaped by jumping through a living room picture window, but was arrested shortly after the crime.
A not guilty plea was entered on Carlisle's behalf and his bond was set at $150,000 cash surety. If convicted as charged, he faces up to life in prison.
