Man Charged In Highland Park Crash That Killed 3
HIGHLAND PARK (AP) - A 30-year-old man has been charged in a Detroit crash that killed the driver of a medical transport van and two people en route to dialysis treatments.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Jeremy Yancey of Macomb County's Chesterfield Township, northeast of Detroit, is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Highland Park District Court.
Yancey faces three counts of second-degree murder, three counts of operating a motor vehicle while impaired causing death and reckless driving causing death.
The prosecutor's office says police tried to stop Yancey after seeing a van speeding in Highland Park, a Detroit enclave. Police reportedly stopped the chase due to safety concerns, but the van continued on until it struck the medical transport van.
A 61-year-old man, 59-year-old woman and 57-year-old woman were killed.
