Man Arraigned In Deadly Shooting At Mobile Home Park
PORT HURON (WWJ) -- A man accused of shooting and killing another man in a mobile home park was arraigned on Friday afternoon at the 72nd District Court in Port Huron.
Jess Bowman, 52, of Casco Township was charged with open murder and felony firearm during the arraignment before Judge John Monaghan. Bowman was accused of shooting Timothy Belisle, 43, during an argument that occurred in the street on Americana Lane in the Americana Estates Mobile Home Park shortly after 9 p.m. on August 6. Beslisle, also of Casco Township, died at the scene of the shooting.
Deputies initially responded to a call about a disturbance outside of a home, and learned that a shooting had occurred while on their way to the park.
When deputies arrived, Beslisle was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bowman was arrested without incident.
According to police, the two men began arguing when the older man pulled out a handgun and opened fire. Both men live in the park, police said.
Judge Monaghan ordered Bowman be held without bond at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 72nd District Court in Marine City on August 13th at 9:15 a.m.
