Major Pot Bust In Southwest Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities made a major pot bust in southwest Detroit on Thursday.
Acting on a tip, police found nearly 2,000 marijuana plants inside a home near Fort Street and Springwells. The weed has a street value of more than $4 million.
Investigators say the hydroponic operation was so extensive with water and lights, the home was using more than $5,000 of electricity a month. That electricity was coming to the home via an illegal hookup.
So far, police have arrested one man. An investigation is ongoing.
