Madonna To Record New Album This Summer
DETROIT (WWJ) - Madonna's long-time manager, Guy Oseary, revealed via Twitter that the Material Girl will begin work on a new album this July.
On Tuesday, Oseary tweeted: "Madonna goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on new album..." followed by "there is nothing to report in regards to tour.. you guys know how this works... first comes the album and next comes the........"
Last word from Madonna came when she wrote on Facebook in December, "Its official! I need to move. I need to sweat. I need to make new music! Music I can dance to. I'm on the look out for the maddest, sickest, most bad ass people to collaborate with. I'm just saying......"
The announcement to begin recording her 12th full-length album comes three years after the release of Hard Candy and two years after the release of Madonna's greatest hits album, Celebration.
The 52-year-old Queen of Pop has been keeping busy though, designing the Material Girl Clothing line with daughter Lourdes, opening the "Hard Candy" Fitness Centers chain and making her directorial debut of the feature film W.E., which was just picked up by The Weinstein Company for theatre release later this year.
For now, the details on Madge's new album are scarce, although Oseary said on Twitter "she has a good idea on which producers she will be working with..." and "lots of questions about what kind of music it will be... stay tuned..."
Madonna signed a $120 million, 10 year multi-rights deal with Live Nation in 2007.
