Madonna Says 'Sorry' To Australian Fans
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (WWJ) - Madonna is apologizing to an entire continent of fans who've been left out of the pop star's latest tour. The Michigan native, who turned 54 earlier this month, posted an audio recording to her website.
"I just want to say to all my Australian fans that I am really and truly sorry to have disappointed you," Madonna said.
Madonna said it was her intention to tour Down Under, but she couldn't effectively juggle her career and being a mother of four.
"My children are my first priority and ... I have two scales that I have to weigh in front of me -- my job as a singer and entertainer, and my job as a mother," she said.
The Material Girl said it's becoming more difficult to take her kids on the road now that they're older. Madonna, who hasn't performed in Australia in 20 years, said when she does get there, it will be worth the wait.
