Madonna: Glorifying Drug Use?
MIAMI, Fla. (WWJ) - Michigan native Madonna has barely kicked off her world tour and already has controversy -- as one of the world's best known DJs attacked her for allegedly glorifying the use of the drugs during a recent show.
Joel Zimmerman -- better known as deadmau5 -- took exception to the singer's comments at a weekend music festival in Miami. She asked the crowd if anyone had seen "Molly" -- a slang term for one of the main ingredients in the club drug ecstasy.
Zimmerman criticized her for making the drug reference to young music fans. The Michigan native then dropped an expletive as she introduced the next act.
After first snubbing the Motor City, Madonna is bringing her already controversial tour to metro Detroit. She'll appear November 8 at Joe Louis Arena. The sell outs of Madonna's tour follow the superstar's historic performance at the Bridgestone Super Bowl Half Time which was the largest viewed halftime performance in the history of the Super Bowl, reaching 47.1 million households.
