Madison Heights Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspect
MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Police in Madison Heights are asking for the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect.
Investigators say the suspect entered the Walgreen's Pharmacy on John R and 11 Mile Rd. around 9 p.m. on Thursday, brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspect was able to get away with $1,500 to $2,000 in cash and a cell phone before fleeing the store.
The suspect is identified as a black male approximately 5'10"-5'11" tall, 18- to 25-years-old, medium complexion, thin build, with short afro style hair. The suspect also had a small amount of facial hair.
The suspect fled the business on foot and was last seen wearing a gray MSU hoodie, black pants and black shoes.
Police say the weapon was described as a silver semi-automatic handgun with black hand grips. A K-9 search of the area was conducted with negative results.
