Macomb-OU Incubator Welcomes New Tenant
Brar Technology Inc., an engineering firm that specializes in the development of embedded software for the defense industry, is moving into the Macomb-Oakland University INCubator in Sterling Heights.
Business commercialization services offered through the incubator will support the company's strategic objectives to further expand its product lines, maintain its superior customer support, and create operational efficiencies to meet an expanding global market.
Company president and CEO Gurdev Brar has worked with the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Centers and its certified busines components, as well as receiving assistance from the Macomb County Department of Planning & Economic Development. He also completed the intense FastTrac New Venture Entrepreneurial Training program. As a result, Brar developed a comprehensive business plan, a precursor to acceptance into the incubator program.
Said Brar: "The collaboration under one roof will allow us to grow and thrive as we focus on product development and expansion into new markets including defense and homeland security."
The Macomb-Oakland University INCubator is located within the Technology Advancement SmartZone of Sterling Heights and is a partnership between the City of Sterling Heights, Macomb County and Oakland University. The focus of the INCubator is to advance the development of businesses associated with the defense, homeland security and advanced manufacturing industries. Businesses accepted into the program are provided with entrepreneurial resources, business solutions, and access to student interns as well as professional mentoring to help them achieve success and create new jobs.
