Police: Man Strangled Wife Unconscious
MACOMB TWP. (WWJ) - Police say a 30-year-old Macomb County man was arrested after he allegedly strangled his wife to the point where she lost consciousness.
Jacob Rizer was arraigned Thursday in the 41A District Court of Shelby Township on domestic violence charges, including assault by strangulation, a 10-year felony. He remains in the Macomb County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Police say the charges stem from an incident that occurred at the Westbridge Manor mobile home community on Hall and Card roads in Macomb. Officers responded to the home after receiving a 911 call from a woman who said her son-in-law was beating up her daughter.
When deputies arrived, the 32-year-old victim told police her husband of 10 years grabbed her by the throat and pushed her into a wall. She said she lost consciousness and when she woke, she was on the floor with her husband on top of her.
Rizer, who was arrested on the scene, is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 27.
