Lyricist Society Helps Kids Use Hip Hop As A Creative Outlet Inside The Classroom

Southfield (CW50) - Lyricist Society started in 2009 at Fredrick Douglass Academy for Young Men as an after school program. The program uses hip hop to increase student involvement in creative arts while also promoting cultural awareness, achievement, and literacy.

On this week's COMMUNITY CONNECT, Lisa Germani sat down with Quan Neloms, founder of Lyricist Society, to talk about how he is transforming student's school lives through the creative use of hip hop in the classroom.
