Low-Water Pressure Impedes Fire Crews On Detroit, Hamtramck Border

DETROIT (WWJ) - Firefighters trying to control a blaze at a vacant home in northern Detroit have not been able to access any water.

The fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a home near the intersection of King and Brush streets, just south of Holbrook Street on the Detroit-Hamtramck border.

Traffic Reporter Lance Howard was over the scene in WWJ's Chopper 950.

"We see at least one large ladder truck and a couple of other pumper trucks trying to battle this fire," Howard said just before 7 a.m. "It does appear that this two- to three-story house is abandoned, but unfortunately, it looks like fire crews have not been able to get any water on the fire as of yet."

It wasn't immediately clear if anyone was injured.
