Lottery Boycott This Weekend?
Some gamblers in Metro Detroit won't be able to play the lottery again this weekend as bar owners protest the state's anti-smoking law.
A similar boycott took place June 19 -- but for only a few hours. This weekend's boycott is all day Saturday and Sunday.
The bar owners who are taking part are trying to push the Michigan Legislature to modify the smoking ban that took effect May 1st to exclude private property such as bars.
Meantime, a lottery spokeswoman said bars participating in this weekend's boycott may face suspension or revocation of the license that allows them to sell lottery tickets.
