Look Up! Rare Full Moon To Shine Bright On Christmas
DETROIT (WWJ) - It's a gift from the celestial gods to us earthlings below: a rare full moon for Christmas.
Astronomers say the moon will shine bright and reach its full size around 6:11 a.m. on Dec. 25.
A full moon hasn't happened on Christmas Day since 1977 and it will be quite some time before it happens again, in 2034.
So, don't forget to look up after you wake on Christmas morning. If you're lucky enough, the moon will be shining so bright that you might even catch a glimpse of Santa Claus flying across the sky.
