Local Fans Gather To Cheer On Tigers In Game 2
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A big sports night in Detroit with both the Tigers playing in the playoffs against the Rangers in Texas for Game 2 and the Lions playing on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.
Lots of Tigers fans are watching that game in area sports bars such as Mr. Joe's in Southfield.
Bob Meisner of West Bloomfield was there but then he's going to the Lions game.
"I was in Chicago ... for the Michigan - Northwestern game, hopefully I'll be in E. Lansing this weekend and going to the Red Wing game on Thursday and Tigers game hopefully tomorrow night, and a Lions game tonight," said Meisner. "Probably won't get any legal work done, but you know, this is a special week."
Other fans say it's a great time to be a Detroit sports fans, because of the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings.
The lone Rangers fan, Mark Samuelson, told WWJ's Beth Fisher that he thinks his Rangers will sweep the series ... his friends don't think too kindly of this remarks.
"We hate him," said his co-workers ... all Tigers fans.
