Lions Tight Ends Might Be Frequent Target For Matthew Stafford This Season
Scott Linehan, the Lions' offensive coordinator, points to the Browns game last season to underscore his thoughts on the potential of Matthew Stafford entering his second NFL season.
But he doesn't rewind to the play you'd expect: Stafford's last-second touchdown pass despite a separated shoulder to beat the Browns.
"Second play of the game, they had a linebacker on (running back) Kevin (Smith) and he went 70 yards down the sideline," Linehan said at a meet-and-greet event with season-ticket holders this spring. "They doctored up the coverage against Cleveland about three straight times and had Calvin (Johnson) triple-covered."
