Lions Might Be Interested In Unhappy Haynesworth

The Washington Redskins attempted to trade former All-Pro defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth last week in the deal that brought quarterback Donovan McNabb from the Philadelphia Eagles.

But amid widespread reports the Redskins continue to shop last year's biggest free-agent catch -- with the Lions among the possible trade partners -- ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday cited a high-ranking Redskins source saying the team isn't determined to move Haynesworth.

Still, there's clearly a rift in Washington, with new Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and Haynesworth off to a rocky start. Haynesworth, 28, reportedly is upset about a scheme change that will have him playing nose tackle in a 3-4 defense, while Shanahan isn't happy with, among other things, the defensive star's decision to train away from the team during voluntary offseason workouts this spring.
