Lions "Huddle" To Help Kids

The Detroit Lions may not have a game this weekend, but that isn't stopping them from getting in a few workouts.

Safety Louis Delmas, linebacker Julian Peterson and tight end Brandon Pettigrew are among the Lions players scheduled to exercise with some local children and work to refurbish a fitness room at the James and Lynelle Holden Club between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It's all part of the 12th annual Hometown Huddle. Detroit is one of 32 cities participating in the event.

The goal is to promote the NFL Play 60 campaign, which encourages kids to get at least 60 minutes of exercise each day.

About $25,000 will be invested in the Holden Club for new workout systems and the fitness room renovation.
