Lions Beat Packers
It was a defensive game between the Detroit Lions and NFC rival Green Bay Packers at Ford Field Sunday afternoon, where the Lions came away 7-3 victors.
The Lions snapped three different losing streaks: A five game losing streak, a 19 game losing streak against NFC opponents, and broke a 10 game losing streak against the Packers.
Drew Stanton, in his third career start at QB for the Lions, hit tight end Will Heller for a 13 yard touchdown pass midway through the fourth quarter, to give the Lions the lead permanently.
Stanton finished the game 10 of 22 passing for 117 yards, one interception, and the TD to Heller.
Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers was knocked out of the game in the second quarter when he suffered his second concussion this season, and was replaced by backup Matt Flynn. Flynn finished 15 of 26 passing for 177 yards, and threw an interception to Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy late in the fourth quarter.
The Lions move to 3-10 on the season, and their victory drops the Packers to 8-5, putting their playoff hopes in deep concern.
Next up for the Lions, they will try to break another losing streak, their road losing streak, when they head to Tampa Bay on Sunday at 1:00pm.
