Lions Announce Summer Youth Football Camp Schedule
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have announced their 2013 Summer Youth Football Camp schedule.
It includes 29 camps in 26 cities from June to August.
The camps are open to boys and girls ages 4-18, are non-contact and designed to improve beginning, intermediate and advanced skill levels.
This year's camps will incorporate the latest health and safety points identified by USA Football.
Camp officials will emphasize keeping the head out of the line of contact, concussion awareness and response and proper equipment fitting.
Each camp is limited to the first 70 participants to register and is conducted by professional educators from the collegiate and high school ranks.
The communities hosting camps include Grand Blanc; Grand Rapids; Midland; Traverse City; and Sylvania, Ohio.
Camps also will be held at Ford Field in Detroit.
