Lions' Anemic Run Game Has Lots Of Culprits
Understand that everybody has had a hand in the Lions' inability to run.
"The run game always starts up front with the offensive line and the run game always finishes with the running back," coach Jim Schwartz said. "And with those end points and all points in between, we haven't done a good enough job."
The Lions are 30th in the NFL with 730 yards rushing (81 average). The league's top 11 individual rushing leaders have more total yards and a average than the Lions do as a team.
"It's never one person and it's never one position," guard Stephen Peterman said. "It's always a cut here or an extra block there; little things. And I know we've been saying it for a while, but we've got to find a way to make it work."
