Lines Down, Power Out In Livonia/Farmington
It was traffic headache in Farmington Hills after a traffic light and power lines came crashing down Friday morning, knocking out power in the area for a time.
Patty Dwyer, who works at Hartwig, Knight & Shukar doctor's office, was driving on Halsted approaching the light at 8 Mile when it happened.
"And then there like was poofs of smoke, poofs of fire, poofs of, you know, sparks and then they all came down and you could see the live wires on the ground," she said.
Dwyer told WWJ she and other drivers stopped before the light fell.
That intersection of 8 Mile/Halsted & Newburgh was expected to be closed for several hours, but power had restored by early afternoon.
Farmington Hills police said there were no injuries reported.
