Lincoln Park Man Accused In 3 Shootings
Authorities have arrested a 20-year old Lincoln Park man in connection with three shootings. According to police, one of those shootings -- a fatality -- was caught on tape.
Lincoln Park Police Chief Thomas Karnes tells WWJ Newsradio 950 that 55-year old Dwight Osborne was walking to work when he work when he was approached from behind and shot twice. Karnes said police caught a break when security camera footage clearly showed the attack.
The suspect, Joseph Bigelow, was later apprehended while police were investigating an unrelated double shooting at the Lil Easy Bar on Dix-Toledo.
"The officers approached and identified him and found out that there was a warrant for his arrest, and he was placed under arrest. But, through the booking information and the officers canvasing the area, we identified this person as a person of interest in both shootings and then we had enough to submit a warrant request for him," Karnes said.
Bigelow has been arraigned in connection with the Osborne shooting. He is also being help in connection with two additional shootings in Feburary, in the parking lot of the Li'l Easy Bar & Grill on Dix Hwy.
