Leyland On Cabrera: It Kind Of Breaks Your Heart As A Manager

As we approach game 6 of the ALCS, the play of Detroit third basemen Miguel Cabrera has not been questioned and many believe it shouldn't be. After all Miggy has been suffering with the same injuries for almost 3 months now and despite a big hit here and there, he has not been the same guy.
Cabrera hit .250 in the ALDS and is hitting .278 coming into play tonight for the ALCS and while those numbers aren't bad at all for the playoffs, his power stats are way down due to his ailments.
We all know that Miggy, when healthy is capable of much more, in fact with a normal Cabrera, Detroit might not be in the predicament they are, down 3-2 in the series and on the brink of elimination.
"It kind of breaks your heart as a manager" Jim Leyland said. "It's really kind of a shame to be honest with you for the whole baseball world because they're not getting a chance to see him at his best. This time of year, people turn on that TV and they love to see these guys and obviously I think he's the best player in the league."
