LeVert Earns Second Preseason All-Big Ten Team Accolade
ROSEMONT, Ill. -- For the second straight year, University of Michigan men's basketball senior guard Caris LeVert has been selected to the 2015-16 Preseason All-Big Ten team as announced by the conference today prior to its media day held in Chicago.
With the Big Ten preseason team expanding to 10 total players this year, LeVert's selection gives U-M its fourth straight season with a pick for the preseason accolade. In fact, LeVert is the fourth Wolverine to earn the award multiple times in their career, joining Maurice Taylor* (1996 & '97), LaVell Blanchard (2001 & '01) and Manny Harris(2009 & '10).
LeVert, who was recently named to the Jerry West Award Watch List, returns for his final season with a 75-33 career record. Last season, he averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 35.8 minutes before a season-ending foot injury saw him miss the final 14 games.
As a freshman, he helped U-M reach the Final Four and national title game. The following year, he guided the Wolverines to their first outright Big Ten title since 1986 as well as a second straight appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight. He needs just 177 points to become the 49th Wolverine to eclipse 1,000 career points.
