Lesson On Golf: Who Is Tiger Woods?

By: Jeff Lesson

Tiger Woods has won many times at a few courses early in the season. The list includes Torrey Pines, Doral and the upcoming Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.

Yes, we know he hasn't won a major in five years and hasn't won at Augusta in eight years- but the guy just dominated a field with 48 of the top 50 players in the world.

With 27 birdies in his Doral win on a soft Buick Open type layout, Woods is clearly the number one player in golf right now.

His biggest issues since "the accident" in 2009 has been his distance control on approach shots and his putting. In his two wins this year they both have been great. In missing the cut in Dubai, losing in the first round of the match play, and at the Honda Classic last week- his play wasn't all that.

His season really begins with The Masters in April. He still must prove he can perform on the weekend in a Major-something he has not done since winning the US Open in 2008.
