Lesson On Golf Blog: Tiger Chokes Away Yet Another Major

Jimmy Powers is a very smart guy. Our program director has led 97.1 The Ticket to a dominant position in the ratings, chose to make an ace when a new car was the prize and also said Eldrick "Tiger" Woods would win two Majors this year.
Given the fact there are only two Majors left, combined with the Powers pedigree, Tiger Woods should be a slam dunk to win both The Open Championship and The PGA.
But just in case it doesn't happen, let's examine why.
Tiger Woods is a choker. There, I said it. The greatest golfer of all time no longer has the confidence to get it done on the weekend of a Major Championship. This has been obvious for years. Heck, he hasn't sniffed a Major since 2008!
Since 2010, he has shot a total of +14 on the third round ("moving day") in the Majors. He has been the best putter on The PGA Tour this year -yet at both The Masters and The U.S. Open that deft touch disappeared. All of a sudden he was displaying all the touch of a butcher late for a lunch date. 36 putts in the third round doesn't get it done. Nor does three absolute chunks on fairways chip shots.
He just completed his worst U.S. Open as a professional. This was on the heels of his worst nine holes as a professional at The Memorial. Yet amazingly he- along with the rest of the world - is still in denial.
At the end of The Open where the 7-2 overwhelming favorite finished a tie for 32nd he proclaimed that he felt he played well and if a couple things had gone right "he would have been just one shot back".
The point is that whenever he has gotten close in a Major he has always choked and fallen back in every Major he played in since the 2008 U.S. Open.
One can no longer blame his swing coach as. Sean Foley pupil Justin Rose just won The Open. We cannot even blame his storied personal life, now that he is at peace with his x and supposedly limiting himself to just one woman.
Just don't blame Jimmy Powers.
