LeBron James Won't Let His Sons Play Football

He may stand as one of the world's greatest basketball players, but LeBron James has taken a stance against another sport: football.
James told ESPN's Chris Broussard that he doesn't let his sons play football -- only basketball, baseball and soccer. Apparently football is too dangerous.
I think it's a little crazy we have come to the day where our kids can no longer play this country's favorite sport.
Yes, I know head injuries are crazy in football and players' careers don't last long, but really, James? His mother let him play football and he seemed to thrive in the sport.
James was a WR at St. Vincent-St. Mary's, and as a sophomore he was first team all-state. He led his team to a state semifinals. James didn't play his senior season because he broke his wrist playing AAU basketball.
James roots on his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys, but yet he is going to tell his sons, LeBron James, Jr and Bryce Maximus James they can't play a sport they watch every week for fear of injury?
This is the same guy who had a commercial promoting his first love as football, the guy who at one point signed with the Cleveland Browns.
It just seems odd for a person who tells tales about growing up without much except sports -- including football -- to not allow his own sons to play.
Injuries happen. I know not all sports have traumatic brain injuries, but they can happen in any sport -- heck, they can happen when you trip on the sidewalk. Do today's kids really need to be wrapped in bubble wrap, ensconced on the couch with a video game controller, for fear they could otherwise hurt themselves?
