Leaders Of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Talk About Governor Snyder
The leaders of Oakland, Macomb and Wayne Counties are talking about Michigan's new governor.
Live on WWJ, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson says Snyder's first focus will likely be the economy and jobs. Patterson says Snyder is a "bright fellow" and should be able to make the necessary adjustments in Lansing. Patterson says everybody wants the same thing, but it's how we get there that counts.
Newly sworn-in Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel tells WWJ that he's impressed by Snyder's willingness to put partisan differences aside and look at issues "most important to the state." Hackel says the state's tax structure must be examined if we're trying to bring more jobs and business to Michigan.
Wayne County's leader Robert Ficano says he's "an optimist" and is encouraged by what he's seen from Snyder so far. Ficano tells WWJ the number-one priority will be developing an environment to create jobs in the state and keep young people from leaving. He says Snyder certainly has the drive to be innovative and try new things.
