DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Get ready, little monsters, five-time Grammy Award winner Lady Gaga is bringing her Born This Way Ball World Tour to Detroit.
Following overwhelming ticket sales and sold out shows throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia, The Born This Way Ball will continue in 2013, visiting 25 cities in North America including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto -- and Detroit.
In this brand-new tour, Gaga performs her latest album "Born This Way" as well as music from both "The Fame" and "The Fame Monster." Tickets go on sale at www.LiveNation.com. The tour will stop Feb. 16 at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
A mid-year report by Pollstar ranked Born This Way Ball as the top grossing tour by any female artist worldwide this year.
"Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way Ball' is effortlessly brilliant in both the visual and musical sense," according to a review in the Hong Kong Daily News.
So, what's she bringing to Detroit? Expect to leave using plenty of superlatives.
"The Haus of Gaga and I have worked for months conceiving a spectacular stage," Lady Gaga said in a press release. "THE BORN THIS WAY BALL is an Electro-Metal Pop-Opera; the tale of the Beginning, the genesis of the Kingdom of Fame. How we were birthed and how we will die celebrating."
The Born This Way Ball is Lady Gaga's first tour since the release of her album "Born This Way."
