King's 'Walk To Freedom' Inspires Video Contest
DETROIT (WWJ) - As part of the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's 1963 Walk to Freedom, local college and high school students are being encouraged to participate in a special video contest called "Now is the Time" -- designed to connect Dr. King's legacy with today's actions.
Erica Hill is Community Outreach Coordinator for UAW Ford:
"They are asking high school and college students to upload a one-minute video on ways they are living out Kings' dream and helping to rebuild the city of Detroit," said Hill.
She says the idea is to connect King's legacy with today's actions.
First prize is an Apple MacBook Pro, second prize is an Apple I-Pad Mini.
Deadline for entry into the contest is June 1.
