Kilpatricks, 3 Co-Defendants Due In Court Monday
Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, his father Bernard, and three co-defendants will be in federal court Monday afternoon to face charges in connection with a City Hall corruption case.
The Kilpatricks, former City Water Department chief Victor Mercado, Bobby Ferguson, and former Kilpatrick aide Derrick Miller face dozens of charges for allegedly shaking down city contractors for millions in public monies for themselves. WWJ Newsradio 950 and Fox 2 Legal Analyst Charlie Langton says everybody's wondering if there'll be a plea deal.
"Just what the lawyers will say and some of the exchanges might give a clue as to what's gonna happen in the future", Langton says. "Certainly, a plea bargain - maybe not by Kwame Kilpatrick or Bernard Kilpatrick - but some of the other people."
Kwame Kilpatrick is already serving time on a probation violation.
