Kilpatrick Bodyguard Called For Questioning
Lawyers working on the alleged cover-up of the Tamara Greene murder investigation get another chance to depose a man who worked as a personal security officer for former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
A said judge Loronzo Jones must answer more questions about text messages connected to the case.
It's a minor victory for Greene family attorney, Norman Yatooma, who believes the case will ultimately go to trial.
"This entire case, really, has been a long and arduous battle and the end is nearing," Yatooma said.
"Lord willing, it won't come sooner than we'd like. Of course, there's a motion pending to have our case dismissed. We're confident the court will not dismiss our case and after that ruling we'll be heading to trial in January," Yatooma said.
The Greene family has filed suit against the city and Kwame Kilpatrick.
Greene, an exotic dancer also known as "Strawberry," was shot to death outside her home in 2003. She is rumored to have performed several months earlier at the never-proven "Manoogian Mansion Party" that supposedly took place at mayor's residence.
Recently, attorneys for the city of Detroit said Greene's death resulted from a drug war and was not connected to the alleged party.
