Kidnapping Charges Brought In Amber Alert Case
DETROIT (WWJ) - Kidnapping charges have been filed against a teenager accused of abducting two children from a Detroit home and prompting an Amber Alert.
Along with two counts of kidnapping, the Wayne County Prosecutor's office charged the 16-year old with violating curfew.
The father of the boys told police he was sleeping early last Friday morning when the teenager, described as his new girlfriend he had met online, took the kids.
Police officers found the teenager along with two-year old Deshawn and three-year old Rayshawn Bigsby at the corner of Ashton and Sawyer streets around 4:45 p.m. Friday.
A hearing for the girl is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in the Juvenile Detention Facility in downtown Detroit.
