Kid Rock To Perform Born Free During Lions Game
Detroit rock star Kid Rock says the theme of his halftime show during the Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day game will be "Team America."
Speaking to reporters at Ford Field Wednesday, Kid Rock said he'll sing "Born Free" during halftime.
"We'll kind of strip it down and build it up a little bit, but a lot of what we're doing is involved with the fields and the National Guard, local people around the city," the singer said.
When asked if he could inspire a win, Kid Rock said he's pretty lucky and the Lions won the only game he attended this year.
Kid Rock has given hundreds of families gift cards from Meijer so they can buy Thanksgiving dinners.
Earlier this week it was announced Kid Rock will throw a 40th birthday party concert in January at Ford Field.
"After I realized nobody was going to throw me a party, I said man wouldn't it be fun just to do a concert somewhere in the city and celebrate it with the people who give me so much love..and celebrate with them."
Kid Rock said he'd like to bring in many of the guests who he has sung with in the past and make the concert a celebration of music and the city.
Tickets for the Detroit celebration will go on sale November 26th. Tickets for the "Born Free" tour will go on sale December 3rd and 4th.
