KEM Thrills Hometown Crowd At The Fox Theatre
DETROIT (WWJ) - UniversalMotown recording artist KEM thrills the crowd at his eagerly-anticipated homecoming concert.
Shortly after 9:30 Friday night, KEM took to the stage looking debonair in a gray suit, black shirt unbuttoned at the neckline and black patent shoes. When KEM made his appearance onstage, the sold-out crowd roared its approval.
KEM opened the show with three show-stoppers: his latest hit, "You're On My Mind," from his third CD, "Intimacy;" "Brotha Man," from his debut CD, "KEMISTRY;" and "True Love," from "KEM Album 2." During his performance of "True Love," KEM highlighted the fact that "Detroit's in the house!" That was his opportunity to share the spotlight with native Detroiter Rayse Biggs, who had a chance to showcase his spectacular trumpet-playing skills on the hit "True Love."
KEM had the audience in the palm of his hand when he pulled out his enduring hit, "Love Calls," one of the songs that put him on the map. Shortly after he left the stage at 10:44 pm, he was quickly called back for an encore.
When KEM walked back onstage, he segued into "Can You Feel It" with this message to the crowd: "For every woman who needs a man, there's a man who needs you, too." His final song of the night was the very upbeat "I Get Lifted." And, by the time the show wrapped up, judging by the reaction KEM got throughout the evening, the audience itself was very uplifted, indeed.
KEM returns to the Fox Theatre on April 10th, for a second show, with American Idol winner Fantasia as the opening act. Click here for ticket information.
