Volunteers Stepping Up To Keep Detroit Fire-Free On Angels Night
Angels Night in Detroit is just around the corner. And, city leaders and volunteers are stepping up to help keep the city fire-free.
Concerned about all of the abandoned and vacant homes, Rev. E.L. Branch says his church is keeping an eye out and giving kids something to do on Angels Night.
"It's gonna start about 5:00 in the evening. All the kids from the entire community are welcome to come by Third New Hope Church. We'll have a tremendous amount of fun activities going on outside, which will also mean that we'll have lots of people out so that we're watching; we're looking," Rev. Branch told WWJ's City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas.
And, several church members will also be out patrolling the neighborhoods.
"Our men will be out in the entire community, round about, and we're gonna make sure that it's a safe night in Detroit," Branch added.
Third New Hope Baptist Church is located at 12850 Plymouth Road, between Meyers and Schaefer Road, in Detroit.
